What the pitch detector reads
Speaking pitch is the rate at which your vocal folds vibrate while you speak. It is measured in hertz (Hz), not as “good” or “bad.” A single recording is a snapshot of one moment, so the most useful way to work with pitch is to compare recordings made under similar conditions.
How to influence pitch
Pitch changes when you choose a different vocal-fold vibration rate. Practice one short phrase at a comfortable volume, then repeat it with a slightly higher or lower inflection. Keep the effort easy and compare recordings of the same phrase instead of pushing toward a particular number.
