What the pace detector reads
Speaking pace is how many words you say per minute. This detector uses the words identified in your sample and the time you spend speaking to return one words-per-minute reading. It is not a score for how “good” your delivery is, and there is no single pace that works in every context.
How to influence pace
Pace changes most clearly when you group ideas and choose where to pause. To slow a passage, put a deliberate breath between ideas instead of stretching individual words. To move faster, reduce between-word hesitation while keeping the sounds inside each word distinct. Compare the same passage each time.
