What the vocal fry detector reads
Vocal fry, also called creak, is a pattern of vocal-fold vibration that can occur in ordinary speech. The detector analyzes usable voiced pulses and reports the share that meet its creak threshold. It does not label a person or make a health assessment from a recording.
How to influence vocal fry
Creak often changes at low-energy moments and near the end of a phrase. To explore a less creaky ending, keep the final word audible and connected to easy, steady airflow, then use a brief pause before the next thought. Stay with a comfortable voice rather than forcing breathiness or height.
